Back on Track for Cambridge University Law Society

Cambridge University Law Society’s Web site was back up and running this week after a brief time off line when a unknown person managed to buy their web address www.camlawsoc.com from under their noses for a mere $30.

(PRWEB) May 22, 2006 -- It was a few days of uncertainty for Cambridge University Law Society after losing their Web address because of a failure to renew it after a cost cutting move which saw the good work done by their developer www.AimproUK.com turn upside down. After lengthy negotiations with the new Web address owner, a deal was struck and they have now secured the rights and ownership to camlawsoc for an undisclosed sum.

Earlier in the week, visitors to www.camlawsoc.com were met with an array of Google type adverts redirecting visitors on a pay per click basis for the unknown owner with an e-mail address for information concerning the Web address status. As the management and president of the law society frantically worked around the clock to salvage the situation, it was apparent that they were going to have to pay the unknown person their asking price or redirect all their visitors to another link which would have cost thousands.

A spokesperson for Aimprouk said; “The Law Society is very lucky that they managed to get their Web address back so quickly, I’ve heard of lots of businesses that have done the same cost cutting measure and have not been as lucky. I would really like to know what they had to pay to get the address back. If you are going to maintain your web site then you must make sure you’re web address is renewed as it is such an important asset to lose”
