Nashville Recording Artist Carson Huggins Celebrates New Release From Roy Head To Nags Head"
Kill Devil Hills, NC - May 23, 2001 -- Carson Huggins is back on the chart path with his new release by earugo records, called From Roy Head to Nags Head". The North Carolina native, who now lives on the Outer Banks, infuses his rhythmic talent with a bluesy vocal style befitting an American Roots Icon.
Carson's CD Release Party will be held on June 9, 2002 from 3-7pm at Diamond Shoals Family Fun Park in Kill Devil Hills. A family style affair, the event includes water park admission, tasty food, beverages and plenty of Carson Live!
Recorded in Nashville, the new CD features originals written over the course of 2 decades. Carson lived in LA when he began writing and Spinal Tap member Viv Savage credits Carson as one of his greatest discoveries. Songs like More Than My Eyes and Livin In Love remind me of pre-Tap days," says Savage, He really makes you want to groove."
Carsons newest release highlights traditional American musical styles... especially those known to hang around Nashville. You will hear a bit of swing, maybe a shuffle, a bit of zydeco, a hint of Memphis Elvis, some swampy blues and a whole lot of rhythm. Studio artists Michael McAdams, Jack Irwin and Barbara Lamb join the foot-tapping infection of the tracks and you can feel the magic with home grown favorites such as Shes Gone, Doug Wiser, and Dont Have To Go Out At Night. Songs like Billy Diamond and Busy Guy reflect Carsons talent as a singer-songwriter-wordsmith.
No stranger to corroboration with seasoned performers, Carson has taken the stage with such musical luminaries as Billy Swan, David Lowery, Tony Joe White, Earl King and CD Namesake Roy Head. Carson recently showcased at the North Carolina Arts Market in Wilmington, NC.
One of the CD's first singles, The North Carolina Song" was written for a touring group of Ambassadors to Brazil and has been translated into Portuguese. Carson digs deep into his homage chest when he records one of his favorite Louis Jordan hits, Fatback & Corn Liquor"... destined to set a new trend in beach and country music.
Carson has toured internationally and played professionally for over 35 years. Locally, he is a member of Dare County Arts Council, NC Presenters Consortium and NC Song Writers Union. He has written/cowritten several jingles and has performed for the last decade as Carson Huggins and with bands BC Powdur & Wall-O-Matics.
From Roy Head to Nags Head" will capture your ear and your feet at the same time... Dont miss the local release party where you can pick up a copy of Carsons new CD.
