Hurricane Handbook Downloads Soar as Season Approaches

In the two weeks since its release on May 16, the 2006 Osceola Hurricane Handbook has been downloaded more than 5,000 times from the Kissimmee Utility Authority Web site, www.kua.com/hurricane.

Kissimmee, FL (PRWEB) May 29, 2006 -- Kissimmee Utility Authority, Florida's sixth largest community-owned electric utility, announced today that it has passed another milestone in the free online distribution of its 2006 Osceola Hurricane Handbook.

In the two weeks since its release on May 16, the hurricane handbook has been downloaded more than 5,000 times from the utility's Web site.

The 40-page handbook is packed with important information on hurricanes and floods, plus helpful Osceola County phone numbers, evacuation routes, a disaster supplies checklist and a storm tracking chart.

The handbook can be downloaded from KUA's Web site at www.kua.com/hurricane.

Printed copies of the handbook will be available beginning June 5 in the lobby of KUA's customer service center, located at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee.

To receive a mailed copy of the handbook, residents should contact KUA at (407) 933-9838.

Hurricane season officially begins June 1 and continues through November 30.
