PRWeb Partners with Photobucket to Expand Image Search Online News Distribution Service to Automatically Syndicate Customer Images onto Leading Online Image Site, Photobucket Lanham, MD (PRWEB) April 27, 2010 PRWeb, the online news distribution service of Vocus (NASDAQ: VOCS), today announced a partnership with Photobucket, one the most popular photo sites on the Web. The partnership means photos uploaded to PRWeb as part of a multimedia news release will automatically be shared through a co-branded Photobucket-PRWeb site. This provides PRWeb customers with an easy way to expand their online footprint, obtain Web traffic through image search, and ultimately reach new customers with visual elements. “Using relevant images in news releases has been shown to improve metrics including the length of time of readers spend reviewing a news release and click-through rates,” said Jiyan Wei, director of Product Management for PRWeb. “From a distribution perspective, images integrated with news releases often appear on consumer sites like Google Image Search, and with this partnership Photobucket places images where millions are looking for image content every day.” Image search is a rapidly growing sector of the search market. For example, a February 2009 survey by Hitwise found that image search was the third-largest source of revenue for Google trailing only Web search and YouTube searches. Hitwise also ranks Google’s image search as one of the top 20 most-visited Web sites in all categories. “PRWeb and Photobucket recognize the opportunity presented by the recent growth in image search,” said Darren Kelly, Chief Revenue Officer with Photobucket. “This partnership will further enable Photobucket to help the world capture, share, and express their digital experiences by allowing users to tap additional search capabilities in publishing and sharing their content.” Photobucket enables 22 million unique visitors each month to manage their visual identities online. The partnership with Photobucket is the latest in PRWeb’s ongoing effort to broaden the industry’s leading online distribution network. Recent partnerships include Zemanta, MEDesprit and Docstoc. “PRWeb is designed to enable anyone, from small business owners to Fortune 500 corporations, to easily create online visibility by sharing their news,” added Wei. “Our partnership with Photobucket demonstrates our continuing effort to enhance and improve our service and add value for our customers.” About Photobucket
