iTravel iShop Named One of The Wall Street Journal Europe’s “Travel Blogs That Are Worth The Trip” In a recent article in The Wall Street Journal Europe, the new luxury travel and shopping website iTravel iShop is named one of the top "Travel Blogs That Are Worth The Trip." London (PRWEB) June 9, 2006 -- iTravel iShop, the new luxury travel and shopping website, has recently been named one of the top “Travel Blogs That Are Worth The Trip” by The Wall Street Journal Europe.
In the article by travel columnist Stephanie Gruner, iTravel iShop is described as: “…A stylish site with useful information including a shopping guide and hotel reviews, both with telephone numbers and links to Web sites. There are also magazine-like features including a good one called Shop Talk, which asks famous designers -- of hotels, clothes, weddings, etc. -- where they travel, shop, stay and eat.”
About iTravel iShop: iTravel iShop is the world’s first travel website dedicated to shopping. Think of it as Travel + Leisure meets Lucky. Each week, iTravel iShop publishes city Destination Guides from the world’s most dynamic shopping cities; Top Shops, which highlights a city’s best stores; and Shop Talk, a Q&A with trend setters and style makers, such as designer Tory Burch, hotelier Grace Leo-Andrieu and designer Karim Rashid. iTravel iShop also publishes reviews of the world’s most luxurious hotels, including Raffles Singapore, The Imperial New Delhi and The Viceroy in Santa Monica.
The site was founded in November 2005 by Christina Valhouli, the former staff travel writer at Forbes.com, and John Vipond, the former managing director of Kenisys Ltd.
To kick off the site, the iTravel iShop team embarked on a “Shop Around the World in 80 Days” trip to discover the world’s best shops, restaurants and hotels, inspired by Phileas Fogg’s journey in the Jules Verne novel. Like Fogg, they departed from London, landed in Mumbai and headed east, visiting Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sydney, LA and New York, among other cities.
