Naperville Copywriting Firm Freelance Writing Solutions Earns 2 Hermes Awards

Two brochures written by Naperville copywriter Elizabeth Carter recently won Gold Awards in the 2010 Hermes Creative Awards Competition. The brochures were for Mirjana Ursulesku and the Heritage YMCA and involved the graphic design services of Sikich Marketing & Design Services and Design Resource Center, respectively.

Two brochures written by Naperville copywriter Elizabeth Carter recently won Gold Awards in the 2010 Hermes Creative Awards Competition. The first brochure portrayed the work of nationally-recognized artist Mirjana Ursulesku, while the second focused on fundraising for the Naperville-based Heritage YMCA.

The brochure for Ursulesku, entitled “Blue Is My Color,” describes her simple, serene approach to art as she draws inspiration from the nature around her. Ursulesku worked together with Carter and the team at Sikich Marketing & Design Services to produce the brochure.

The brochure for the Heritage YMCA highlighted the many ways in which the non-profit touches over 15,000 kids and families each year and played a key role in the success of the group's 2009 Strong Kids fundraising campaign. The group worked with Carter and Design Resource Center to produce the brochure.

The Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding work in the design and development of creative marketing materials. The awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). This year’s competition drew over 3,600 entries from advertising agencies, public relations firms, marketing firms and freelance professionals across the United States and around the globe. Of these, only 18 percent were recognized with Gold Awards.

Carter said, “Businesses today have only seconds to capture the interest of their prospects and compel them to take action. They can’t afford to waste their chance with the wrong kinds of information. As a brochure writer, it’s critical that I choose words carefully to make sure we’re speaking to the deepest desires of my clients' prospects.”
