There will be psychics tuned to your energy, massage therapists tuned to your body, free vegan carrot cake, alcohol-free champagne, and dancing with the music of DJ 180.

Unexplained magic frequently occurs at these events. “At the Scorpio party in November, thirty people showed up out of nowhere in the middle of the evening,” says Zodiac Lounge co-founder and astrologer Samuel F. Reynolds. The birthday party for Capricorn was also a moving experience--one woman was overwhelmed by being sung to and fed cake, Reynolds reports. “We didn’t know it, but she was a reporter. She wrote a whole article about how moved she was. I knew then that we had to keep this up!”

Just like the Zodiac itself, no one knows why or how it works. It just does. “People are always telling me how special the event is for them,” Reynolds says. “It’s one thing to celebrate your birthday with friends and family, but it’s a whole different thing to celebrate your birthday with strangers and feel like they know you just as well or even better.”

There is no cover charge to attend the event itself. There is a $10 charge to see a psychic, massage therapist or energy worker for 15 minutes, but the first FIVE to receive a consultation receive a special gift!

Dakar Restaurant is located at 285 Grand Avenue, between Clifton Place and Lafayette Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
