LocaModa Adds Real-Time Social Streams to RMG Networks' Venues LocaModa's place-based social media platform powers RMG's NYTimes.com Today network. Cambridge, MA (Vocus) May 12, 2010 LocaModa, Inc. today announced an expanded partnership within which LocaModa’s place-based social media platform will aggregate and distribute interactive content for RMG Networks’ NYTimes.com Today place-based network, which is deployed in 800+ downtown cafes and eateries. LocaModa’s place based-social media platform streams, filters and distributes real-time social media to place-based signage networks. As a result, place-based networks are even more engaging to consumers and attractive to advertisers. The LocaModa and RMG relationship kicked off in early April with a media campaign featuring localized Twitter messages and venue specific check-ins using the LocaModa Foursquare application. The campaign was sponsored by Verizon. RMG Networks CEO Garry McGuire anticipates that the current network will double in size in 2010, and he expressed excitement about the interactive possibilities within venues: “Social media and mobile interactivity have become a part of life for millions of consumers on the move. By virtue of LocaModa’s interactive and cross channel capabilities, the NYTimes.com Today Network offers an even more compelling and measurable medium for advertisers.” Stephen Randall, LocaModa’s CEO commented, “True audience engagement is a prerequisite for best of breed place-based networks. With RMG, real-time streams become data snacks for busy consumers, and we’re delighted to be enabling that exciting proposition.” About LocaModa
