21 Year Old Poker Pro Makes History

Shannon Shorr, the 21 year old poker phenom, from Tuscaloosa, Al. made history this week by becoming the youngest poker player to reach back to back final tables at the World Series of Poker Circuit Event in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

(PRWEB) June 16, 2006 -- Shannon Shorr, the young Alabama college student/Poker Pro, has made history by becoming the youngest poker player to reach a final table in a World Series of Poker, No Limit Circuit Event at Harrah's Casino, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. To top it off, the following day, he succeeded in final tabling another No Limit event, making him the youngest player to ever make two consecutive final tables. He placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in these tournaments, cashing in for close to $40,000 Shannon began playing online and built his hobby into an extremely successful career at the ripe old age of 21 years.

In his first live tournament in Melbourne Australia, The Aussie Millions Championship, he finished fourth, beating several notable pros and cashing in for close to 1/4 of a million dollars. After traveling all over the world to include, Vienna Austria, Barcelona Spain and the Bahamas, Shannon, who turned 21 on June 7th, is now legally able to play in the USA on the World Poker Tour. He capitalized on it immediately this week in Lake Tahoe.

He will be moving to Las Vegas, Nevada at the end of this month where he has already won a seat in the prestigious World Series of Poker Main Event, which will air later in the year from the Rio Casino.
