Cindy Margolis hosts Celebrity Fundraiser to benefit Resolve WagerWeb spokesperson Cindy Margolis will Pose with a Purpose in PlayBoy donating a portion of proceeds to help fight Infertility. (PRWEB) June 21, 2006 -- Super Model Cindy Margolis hosted a successful fundraiser on Saturday to raise money and awareness to help fight the staggering problem of Infertility in America, an issue facing over 9.5 million women at last count. The event was held at her Studio City nightclub, Guys North, where the mother of three presented a personal check for $25,000 to Anna Bell, a representative from the RESOLVE Organization in New York. Margolis's own heartbreaking 5 year struggle with infertility led her to be one of the first celebrities to bare and share all about this normally very intimate and private issue. Recently named the national spokesperson for RESOLVE, the idea of hosting a celebration of children everywhere by planning a charity carnival in their honor was conceived as she reflected back on her own three blessings. All of whom were conceived using a variety of infertility procedures and surrogacy assistance. Says Margolis, "As their birthdays approached, what better way to remember my own personal blessings than by giving back so that other couples can also realize their baby dreams." The celebration was highlighted by performances by the nationally known Kid's Band "The OHMIES," as well as appearances by Dora the Explorer, Spiderman and Barney.
Margolis's personal passion for fertility awareness, education and support has become a powerful tool in the battle to raise these issues and the much need funds to help other couples, especially those without other resources. "The dream of having a baby should not be based upon where you live, how much money you make or who you know," says Margolis. A sentiment which actress Holly Robinson Peete and Husband legendary football player Rodney Peete couldn't agree with more. Holly and Rodney who conceived their twins with the assistance of IVF, attended the event with their four children. Also in attendance for the event; Grammy winning R & B Producer Jimmy Jam and his family. Who as you know has produced for Sting, Mariah Carey, Patti LaBell and Janet Jackson. Actor and comic, Bill Bellamy and his family, former Miss Universe, Dayanara Torres with her and Mark Anthony's children and American Idol heartthrob Constantine Maroulis to name a few.
Margolis has dedicated the past five years of her life to not only becoming an advocate for the cause of Infertility, but more importantly also a voice for those couples who cannot be heard. Adamant in her belief that every woman who wants to be a mother should have the opportunity, Margolis will bare all for Playboy later this year, "Posing with a Purpose," and donating a portion of all magazine sales to RESOLVE. The Internet pioneer has also recently written a book designed to help childless couples navigate the infertility nightmare and will be in New York the week of June 26th, meeting with publishers. You will also see her coming out with a new calendar in 2007, a project exclusive to her new partnership with WagerWeb.com.
