The United States Organizations for Bankruptcy Alternatives, Inc. (USOBA) will hold its 2006 Summer Conference at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Denver, Colorado, July 21st and 22nd. USOBA http://www.usoba.org announced that NCCUSL Representative, Don Mielke will be a guest speaker at the conference.

Mr. Mielke will just be returning from the NCCUSL Annual Meeting that will be held this year from July 7-14, 2006. He will provide USOBA attendees with an update of the future plans for the Uniform Debt Management Services Act as well as the NCCUSL. This Act is intended to regulate the credit counseling and debt settlement industries at the state level. The information provided will help you better plan for the possibility of legislative change within the debt settlement and negotiation industry across the country.

Mr. Mielke, a three term legislator and former Chair of Judiciary, Legal Services and Rules Committees, has personally drafted over 50 bills and 200 amendments. Currently Mr. Mielke uses his unique experience and expertise as a registered lobbyist with the Colorado Secretary of State and in private practice at Watrous, Ehlers, Mielke & Goodwin, LLP.

Don Mielke has served as District Attorney for the First Judicial District in Golden, CO from 1987-1993 and as a Colorado commissioner for the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws for 14 years.

Mr. Mielke also authored "A 100-Year Tradition of Excellence--The National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws", Colorado Lawyer, published January, 1992.
