America for the Troops, a National Event Honoring Our Troops at Home and Abroad October 1, 2006

Families and friends of the U.S. military will join together to honor troops on Sunday, October 1, 2006. For one hour, beginning at 12:00pm, PST / 3:00pm EST, celebrations will be held across the nation. The concept is simple, join together to honor all troops at home and abroad, for their commitment, bravery and selfless service. America for the Troops hopes to have each state represented in October’s celebration.

About Lorraine Montana

Feeling a need to support her son who is currently serving in the U.S. Army, Lorraine Montana created America for the Troops. Montana, like many families, has become involved in local support groups, but now she’s looking at a bigger picture. Inspired by other grass roots organizations, Ms. Montana is working with fellow military support organizers to promote this event nationally. Her desire is to bring local military support groups across the nation together collectively for one hour to honor our troops on October 1, 2006. Ms. Montana, a mother, a businesswoman and an innovator, lives in Redding, California.
