"The Color of Olives" Premieres at the Pioneer Theater in New York City on July 12 “The Color of Olives,” a new feature-length documentary film from Mexican director Carolina Rivas, will have its theatrical premiere in New York City at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater on July 12th, 2005. (PRWEB) June 29, 2006 -- Carolina Rivas' "The Color of Olives" was recently picked up by Seattle-based AFD Theatrical (www.arabfilm.com) in early 2006. The film has been popular in the festival circuit since its debut at the Sarajevo International Film Festival in March of 2006.
Carolina Rivas and cinematographer Daoud Sarhandi have created an elegant and visually breathtaking film about the Palestinian experience, focusing on the Amer family, who live surrounded by the infamous West Bank Wall. In this environment, their daily lives are dominated by electrified fences, locked gates and a constant swarm of armed soldiers.
This unique and intimate documentary shares their private world, allowing a glimpse of the constant struggles and the small, endearing details that sustain them. “The Color of Olives” is an artistic and beautifully affecting reflection on the effects of racial segregation, the meaning of borders and the absurdity of war.
More information about the filmmakers and their film is available at the official website, www.thecolourofolives.com. Information about the theatrical premiere can be found at www.twoboots.com/pioneer/olives.htm.
