1WG to Be Performed in Chicago

(PRWEB) June 30, 2006 -- Todd Cardin today announced that he will be auditioning actresses to play Melissa Gilbert in the Chicago reprisal of 1WG ... Melissa Gilbert an Unauthorized Play. 1WG was last performed at the Philly Fringe Festival in 2005. The play will be performed this winter in Illinois with a new actress taking over for Cardin's wife Emily. Cardin still recieves between ten and twenty emails per month requesting to perform the show.

Melissa Gilbert was elected president of the Screen Actors Guild in November 2001. She is well known for her role as Laura Ingalls on the NBC series Little House on the Prairie (1974-83). The youngest person to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she received an Emmy Nomination for her role in The Miracle Worker (1979). An actress and a director, her recent credits include the television movies Zoya, Switched at Birth, The Soul Collector, Vision of Murder, Nora Roberts’ Sanctuary and the independent feature Lisa Picard is Famous .

The play is a loving tribute to Gilbert and was the first play that Todd Cardin produced.
