On May 17, 18, 2002, I joined Personal Training Professionals from throughout the United States and Europe in New York City for the ‘New York Strength Performance Conference’ where the USA Master Trainers Association was introduced.

USA Master Trainers was created to fill the need of continuing educational support for the training professional. The conclusion of the seminar resulted in recommendations for improving health and fitness standards for athletes and fitness enthusiasts including:

Community lectures by training professionals on preventing drug abuse in sports

Steps to prevent cruciate (knee) ligament injuries in female athletes who currently suffer eight times as many as their male sports counterparts.

A new evaluation of personal training clients based on energy rather than embarrassing “body fat” tests.

“Personal training income in New York City’s two largest gym chains have increased by over 400% in just a two year period” so says Dr. Jack Barnathan, President of USA Master Trainers. “The need for top training professionals to meet the needs and challenges of this growing industry has never been greater.
