Excitement Builds as Sugarcreek Gets Ready to Return for the Pavilion Farewell Season Concert at the Attic July 9

Tickets are selling briskly as concert date nears.

Myrtle Beach, SC (PRWEB) July 2, 2006

Tickets for the Sugarcreek Reunion Concert at The Attic at The Myrtle Beach Pavilion on July 9, 2006 are selling briskly, but the fans of the band can still get tickets. The concert is expected to be one of the most exciting and nostalgic events during the celebration of the Pavilion’s Farewell Season. Admission is $20 and tickets are limited to 950 tickets.

“There’s a lot of excitement about Sugarcreek returning to The Attic, so those who want to be part of this historic event need to get their tickets now,” said Tim Ruedy, vice president of operations for Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc.’s sports, entertainment & recreation division. “A lot of people have fond memories of dancing to the music of Sugarcreek and they are looking forward to the concert taking them back to the good times they had at the Pavilion as kids.”

Sugarcreek, The Attic’s house band for more than 10 years, is more closely associated with the history of The Attic than any other band. Thousands of teenagers grew into adulthood dancing to the beach music of Sugarcreek.

From 1971 through 1990 the Charlotte, N. C.- based-band, Sugarcreek played over 4000 dates, spreading their music over a good portion of the United States and Canada. During the 1980s the band released five albums, had numerous television appearances and radio interviews, and toured 250 nights a year. They wrote, sang and played such songs as, “Crazy Kinda Love”, “Soothsayer”, “Six Days To Sunday”, “Together Again”, “Rock The Night Away” and their biggest hit, “What A Night.”

“Sugarcreek played over 350 nights at The Pavilion’s Magic Attic, so their return is a homecoming for both the band and their legion of fans affectionately known as ‘Official Creek Freaks,’” said Ruedy. “Their concert will feature the 1981

through 1989 lineup of band members: Rick Lee, Tim Clark, Jerry West, Mike Barber and Lynn Samples. Original band members Robbie Heglar and John Harwell will also perform. This one-night-only concert brings Sugarcreek back onstage together again and it will be a truly special event.”
