The Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association Presents Sparkling Wine Weekend -- Hands-On Information for the Winemaker. This symposium will take place July 21 & 22, 2006 at Brotherhood Winery, 100 Brotherhood Plaza Drive, Washingtonville, New York. This event only comes once in a century: the chance for winemakers in the Northeastern United States to learn about sparkling wine production in a detailed fashion.

This two day symposium will give winemakers the opportunity to learn about Champagne’s Climate & Geology to New York, compare Sparkling Wine from selected New York Wineries. There will be demonstrations by sparkling wine equipment and supply wholesalers. Roundtable discussions with sparkling wine producers about the economics of sparkling wine production and it’s future for the northeast.

The presenters are knowledgeable experts from the wine industry of New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Some presenters include, Cesar Baeza-Winemaster and owner of Brotherhood Winery, John Hudelson HVWGA’s VP of Operations, Grape Grower and Chemist/Technician for Royal Kedem Winery, Steve DiFrancesco – Sparkling Winemaker at Glenora Cellars, Dragana Dimitrijevic – Enologist with Cornell University’s Enology Program, Jerry Forest – Owner & winemaker at Pennsylvania’s Buckingham Winery, Fred Frank – Owner of Vinifera Wine Cellars, Tony Prospero – President of Prospero Equipment, Mark Stopke – Owner of Adair Vineyards and more…

The Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association is a membership of producers of grapes and wines in the Hudson Valley. Their product is defined by the unique macroclimate and terrain of the Hudson Valley. Their mission is to increase the quality and quantity of wine and grape production in the Hudson Valley through education, knowledge, networking and cooperation.
