Stirton Productions Unleashes Sci-Fi / Horror Movie, The Planet

Scotland based digital film company, Stirton Productions announces the release of new movie, The Planet.

Aberdeen, Scotland (PRWEB) July 5, 2006 -- Stirton Productions are pleased to announce the release of their latest movie, ‘The Planet,’ written and directed by Mark Stirton.

The Planet, which stars Mike Mitchell (2005/6 WFF Mr. Universe) and Aberdeen comedian and presenter Patrick Wight, concerns a group of shipwrecked mercenaries and their struggle for survival on an alien world. Filled with exciting action scenes and special effects this is sure to be a hit with cult film fans.

The dvd release of the movie features an additional hour long documentary, showing how the film was made and what sort of problems had to be resolved to produce it: Problems such as funding, casting, hail storms in June and making an effects laden film with 3 people - A must for any independent film maker or those interested in movie making.

Currently, the dvd is only available directly from the company website, but Stirton Productions Director, Mark Stirton is keen to secure a distribution deal for a general release in the near future.

Shot entirely on digital video The Planet, took 2 years to complete with a total budget of only £8000. The movie is thought to be one of the only feature length science fiction movies made in Scotland by a Scottish company.
