StockInterview Blasts Al Gore's Inconvenient Infomercial

StockInterview.com’s Senior Editor James Finch reviews the movie “An Inconvenient Truth,” calling it Al Gore’s Inconvenient Infomercial. Finch takes Gore to task for using the movie to mainly complain about his presidential election loss, six years ago.

Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) July 5, 2006 -- James Finch, senior editor of StockInterview.com’s Market Outlook Journal, reviewed Al Gore’s recent attempt at film acting, concluding, “The message is good; the messenger needs to take up a new hobby (like unsuccessfully running for President again).” Finch questions the former Vice President’s motives, asking, “Is ‘An Inconvenient Truth” a documentary about Global Warming, or Al Gore’s microphone-grabbing, spotlight-snatching platform to whine about, and revisit, his presidential election loss, six years ago?” Finch labeled the quasi-documentary “priggish political propaganda.”

Finch blasts Gore for his frequent message-switching through the movie, writing, “Whatever gravity the poseur portrayed during his supercilious narration, and in his deep-thinking (but awkward) poses, Gore nullified these moments with clumsy flashbacks to the 2000 presidential campaign.”

While other critics advised audiences to forgive Gore’s political ramblings and to instead focus on the former vice president’s message, Finch pointed out there was no clear message. Finch wrote, “The self-righteous Al Jr. offers no solution in his movie. Even when asked by an audience in China for his solution, Gore spouts non-sequiturs -- political rhetoric, but no clear solution. The movie director deftly cuts away before Al can look even sillier. The film shows images of a nuclear reactor, a wind farm and running water. Was the blustering Al or his bewildered movie director hoping the audience would choose a solution for them?”

Finch agrees with a large part of Gore’s global warming message, but blasts the erstwhile politician for using “every (Gore) personal tragedy to play upon the audience’s heart strings.” Finch asked, “What does that have to do with Global Warming? Nothing, but it aids and abets an otherwise insincere politician to better sell his purported sincerity.”
