NAMWOLF Commends Judge Franklin Noel for Directive on Law Firm Diversity Report

The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) lauds Magistrate Judge Franklin Noel for ordering attorneys to provide a 10-year history of “legal-ethical issues” for their respective law firms.

(PRWEB) July 8, 2006 -- The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) lauds Magistrate Judge Franklin Noel for ordering attorneys to provide a 10-year history of “legal-ethical issues” for their respective law firms.

The 10-year report will provide Judge Noel with information regarding the number of women and minorities each attorney’s law firm employs now and in the past. The information will not ultimately choose who lead counsel is, yet it could be a deciding factor as to who will be given leadership in the case.

“NAMWOLF is very pleased to hear about the order that Judge Noel placed on attorneys and their respective law firms,” said Yolanda Coly, Associate Director of NAMWOLF. “This directive creates opportunities for minority and women-owned law firms and promotes awareness for law firm diversity.”

The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (www.namwolf.org) was founded in June, 2001. It is a national trade association comprising a select group of minority and women-owned law firms who exhibit excellence in the legal profession. The primary aim of the organization is to advocate for the increased utilization of minority and women-owned law firms by major corporations and public entities throughout the United States.
