Set to sizzle through the summer months of August and September, the qualifying tournaments for the Norwegian FHM/Purple Lounge Poker Tour started in earnest this month with sponsor Purple Lounge offering ten opportunities to win a free seat on the tour.

The freeroll tournaments, held at 20:30 BST, spanned over a period of four weeks giving players the option to choose in which tour stop they wanted to play. From Bergen to Stavenger, they simply entered the appropriate freeroll tournament and won their seat at that tournament.

The tour has generated a great deal of interest in recent weeks in both the UK and in the Norwegian market, with coverage by TV2 and all the popular print magazines. This is in no small part due to the uniqueness of the event itself.
