Etty Brish, a native of Israel, established ELB Design in 1997 after receiving her B.S.C. in interior design from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and working within the interior design industry. Etty’s design influences are national and international in scope; her clientele list covers New York, Chicago, California, and Texas as well as clients from Kuwait and Morocco. European influence is evident in her designs as Etty has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, and the United States; additionally, she can converse in 5 different languages. Etty and her husband, Arie, moved from Israel to Austin during the late 1980’s and have made Texas their home. Before coming to the United States, Etty was a child psychologist, working with children from various backgrounds including Bedouin children from the Negev desert. Using her degree in psychology from Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva, Israel, Etty parlayed this interest and creativity into puppet theatre. Her productions were performed in Hebrew, English, and Arabic.
