Is Body Language The Rosetta Stone For Dating?

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 14, 2006 -- On July 15, 1799, Napoleon's army discovered the Rosetta Stone, making it possible for Egyptian hieroglyphics to be understood. Dr. Jack Storm, creator of "The Dating Edge System" for men, contends that body language (http://www.thedatingedge.com/) is the Rosetta Stone for dating (http://www.thedatingedge.com/) success.

According to Dr. Storm, a child knows he is in trouble when mom shows up at the bedroom door with a frown on her face, her arms crossed, and tapping her foot. Mom doesn't need to say a word. However, adults forget the importance of reading body language, leading to confusion when dating. This confusion is understandable because only about 10 percent of communication is verbal.

Most singles decide if they're attracted to each other within the first two minutes. In fact, an adult dating experiment at the Edinburgh International Science Festival involving 500 speed dates recently found that nearly one-half of women and one-quarter of men made up their minds about a prospective partner within the first 30 seconds of meeting.

"Body language patterns will reveal whether or not someone is attracted to you despite the words that are being said," Dr. Storm asserts. "The key is to look at patterns of 3-4 consistent acts of body language within a short period of time. A single act by itself, such as a smile or a frown, will not be enough information to tell what a person is really feeling."

Reading body language makes it easier to date by letting one know quickly if the other person is interested. Dr. Storm advises, "If someone is giving you positive body language, and you're attracted too, the best response is to emphasize your positive body language to make it clear that the feeling is mutual."
