Duistermars Hired as Director of Clinical Education for Respiratory Therapy Program

Jan Duistermars has joined Pima Medical Institute, 957 S. Dobson Road in Mesa as their new Director of Clinical Education for Respiratory Therapy. Duistermars brings more than 25 years of experience in respiratory therapy to her position at the privately-owned career college.

(PRWEB) July 17, 2006 -- Jan Duistermars has joined Pima Medical Institute, 957 S. Dobson Road in Mesa as their new Director of Clinical Education for Respiratory Therapy. Duistermars brings more than 25 years of experience in respiratory therapy to her position at the privately-owned career college.

Prior to joining PMI, Duistermars worked at AZ Promise Specialty Hospitals where she served as the Director of the Cardiopulmonary Department. She also worked as the Director of Respiratory Care at Kindred Hospital, as well as working as a Respiratory Therapist for AirLogix in Dallas and St. Joseph Hospital.

Duistermars holds an Associate degree as a Respiratory Therapy Technician from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, an Associates degree in General Studies, a B.S. degree in Business, and she is working on a Masters degree in Health Services Administration.

“There are a lot of career paths open for Respiratory Therapists and Jan has working knowledge of several of them,” said Christopher Luebke, campus director for the Mesa campus. “In today’s competitive work place, students want to know their career path can provide upward mobility. Graduates of the 89 credit-hour Respiratory Therapy program receive an Associate of Occupational Science degree. Entry-level employment opportunities are available in hospitals, medical centers, medical equipment companies, home health agencies, sub-acute, and extended care facilities.
