American Securities and ACI Capital, majority owners of Healthy Directions, LLC, announce today that Dave Mathews will join Healthy Directions as Chief Executive Officer effective July 12, 2010. Mr. Mathews brings to the company a wealth of experience in the consumer products arena that will complement and enhance its existing direct marketing strength in the growth of its newsletter and nutritional supplement business.

Most recently, Mr. Mathews served as Interim CEO of the Blair Corporation following his tenure as President & Chief Operating Officer of Blair’s parent, Orchard Brands. As President & COO of Orchard, he supervised the company’s ten Brand Presidents and provided oversight for the corporate database marketing and global sourcing functions.

Mr. Mathews other experience includes three years at Circuit City, with two years as President of Circuit City Direct. Earlier in his career, he spent three years with Dell, Inc. in marketing and merchandising, as well as 11 years in various management positions with LL Bean, Inc. During his time with LL Bean, Mr. Mathews launched the company’s new e-commerce business and also led an LL Bean venture that opened retail stores in Japan. Mr. Mathews received his BA in Economics from the University of Maine.
