New Hotel Operations Certificate Program Offered by The International School of Hospitality In Conjunction with UNLV and the Venetian Hotel Resort Casino Introducing a condensed hotel operations certificate developed to bridge the gap between academia and industry. With internship support from the world-famous Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, this program offered in conjunction with the Hospitality Outreach Services Division of UNLV’s William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration is designed specifically to develop a cadre of professional graduates well versed in front desk & housekeeping operations and the communication and management challenges associated with the interaction between these two departments. Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 28, 2006 -- The International School of Hospitality (TISOH) is proud to introduce a new certificate program in hotel operations, announced Timothy Lam, Director of The International School of Hospitality.
This groundbreaking program is operated in conjunction with the Hospitality Outreach Services Division of UNLV’s William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. This Certificate program is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge in front desk and housekeeping operations, along with the required supervisory and communication skills to succeed in hotel operations. It is suitable for students with little or no experience, as well as for those seeking specialized knowledge for advancement to supervisory positions.
The inaugural program begins September 6, 2006 on the campus of UNLV. Classes meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-9pm for a two month period. Participants are required to successfully complete the classroom program and an internship (waived for industry professionals on request) to receive the Certificate. Within the 10 modules that comprise the program, topics include an introduction to lodging, hotel organization, guest services, the guest cycle, reservations, rate & occupancy calculations, front desk operations, communications, housekeeping and management skills.

From November 2006 onwards, the program will be offered online for participants outside of the Las Vegas area.
About TISOH: The International School of Hospitality, licensed by the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education, is dedicated to training individuals for careers in hospitality-related industries. The School’s condensed, career-specific courses are suitable for new entrants to the industry as well as for established veterans to hone their skills.
