St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) July 30, 2006 -- The Missouri Black Expo will hold a press conference on Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Roberts Mayfair Hotel, located at 806 St. Charles Street, in the Boodles & Raffles Room, Mezzanine level. This year’s Missouri Black Expo will sponsor an exciting first, The Gear Up Student and Parent Leadership Summit, which will address the issues facing many parents and students in the metropolitan area.

"There have been a lot of changes recently in the St. Louis Public School system”, said Tom Bailey, President and Founder of the Missouri Black Expo. “As a result of those changes, it can be fairly easy to lose focus on an area that is of utmost importance; parents taking responsibility for their role in their child’s educational process. The Gear Up Student & Parent Leadership Summit is a tremendous program designed to promote parental involvement in their child’s education. We are fortunate to have major celebrities and their parents donating their time to discuss how their parents or other significant role model helped them excel in school" said Bailey.
