Spiritualist Community Extends a Healing Hand to the World

Known far and wide as a hub for psychics, mediums and people interested in metaphysics, Cassadaga, Florida has recently gained notoriety for Spiritualist healing. The Thursday Healing Circle, timed to coincide with Healing Circles in Brazil and throughout the world, is growing rapidly and there’s often a line outside the Caesar Forman Healing Center.

Cassadaga, FL (PRWEB) August 1, 2006 -- Spiritualist healing seems to be gaining popularity along with Reiki, Acupuncture, Aromatherapy and other modalities deemed part of the New Age movement but actually is firmly rooted in tradition. Like the phenomenon of communication with spirit for which Cassadaga is famous, Spiritual healing plays a crucial role in the town’s history. “George Colby, the founder of the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp, told followers he was ill with tuberculosis when his Indian spirit guide, Seneca, led him to the 35 acres of wilderness in 1875. A small spring on the homestead provided the elixir that healed him, according to local legend,” Terry O. Roen states in an article in “The Orlando Sentinel” published in April.

To meet the increasing demand for alternatives to traditional methods of treatment, the healers in the Cassadaga community have thrown open their doors as well as their hearts to all who seek their help. With more and more people disappointed in impersonal HMOs and assembly line medicine, the Spiritualist healing offered in Cassadaga is a comforting mix of care, encouragement and faith. The healers in Cassadaga are careful to point out that Spiritualist healing is intended to be a compliment to a doctor’s care, not a substitute. Results are produced through the healer’s use of mediumship to channel Divine healing energies into the individual, affecting the areas of the body, mind and/or spirit in need of healing and utilizing the individual’s inherent self-healing ability. Distance healing, sometimes known as absentee healing, works the same way and the individual need not be present to benefit. There are about 20 healers certified through the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association. Each of them has completed an extensive education program that includes classes and experiential training.

Everyone is welcome to receive a healing at the Caesar Forman Healing Center Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2 and 4 PM and prior to Sunday services from 10 to 10:30 AM. Healing is also an integral part of the Sunday service in the Colby Memorial Temple, beginning at 10:30 AM. Healers and those in need of healing are invited to join the Healing Circle each Thursday at 10:45 AM in the Andrew Jackson Davis Building. Directions to Cassadaga are available on the web at http://www.cassadaga.org. Those who are unable to attend email their healing request to cassadagahealers @ aol.com.
