Lynanda Sticks Post-Its On Electronic Documents

PARIS (PRWEB) August 10, 2006 -- Lynanda CS, an independent European software publisher, announced the availability of Ptimemo, a tool to stick contextual Post-its on electronic documents. The software is aimed at replacing paper-made Post-its.

Since its invention in 1968, the Post-it has gained such popularity that you can see it everywhere, in every company. Originally designed to attach notes to documents, the Post-it is widely sticked on computer displays, offices furniture and so forth. It’s also used as a messaging vector within company’s staff. It is a way to put bookmarks on written documents without changing their content.

Ptimemo is software that partly mimics the behavior of Post-it notes on electronic documents. It has striven towards features which give a virtual equivalence to the versatility of the tangible Post-it. Once installed, the user can stick Post-its on all kind of documents, from Word to PDF through WebPages, or on the desktop.

The user interface of Ptimemo is unconventional: the user accesses functions through a Mouse Gestures Recognition (MGR) technology. For instance, drawing a circle on a PDF with the mouse sticks a post-it; while drawing a “Z” on a post-it erases it. This convenient way of accessing functions provides a new layer of interactivity, letting the user focus on the content of his document.

As its paper counterpart, Ptimemo can stick bookmarks on documents without altering the original content. Ptimemos stays inside documents while they are sent by mail. The electronic Post-it speeds up the review lifecycle for press material and pictures by letting the team communicate faster.

The target market of Ptimemo is to replace the use of paper-made Post-its in companies. It can also open new markets, for instance by providing bookmark and review features for pictures to the press and media industry.
