(PRWEB) August 10, 2006 -- Santa Ana throws free concerts to drive commerce on August 19, 2006, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at 125 N. Broadway, Santa Ana, 92701, in the Downtown Santa Ana Promenade, Artist Village.

The event is free to the public and is sponsored by Downtown Santa Ana Business Council.

The itinerary includes:

7 p.m. China Girl Featuring Alex from Bassland

A multi year tribute to David Bowie.

8 p.m. The New Fidelity

Power pop songs about real things. Giving the nod back to The Who, The Jam, The Beatles and Beach Boys while looking ahead to see what's coming. The New Fidelity play mostly original, harmony rich songs that make you want to dance.

8:30 DJ Eyad and Trashrocket

9:30 p.m. The Sweet and Tender Hooligans

The band has received recognition as “Best Cover Band in Los Angeles” in the L.A. Weekly’s “Best of 2003” issue. Sweet & Tender Hooligans have also gained recognition by Morrissey himself, when he kicked off his 1999-2000 “Oye Esteban” world tour by announcing “Hello, we are the Sweet & Tender Hooligans” at his first show in Tempe, Arizona. The band has performed sold-out shows in some of the top venues in Southern California including the Hollywood Palace, The House of Blues, The Knitting Factory and The Roxy.
