Bush's Best Homestyle Chili presents the First Annual East Tennessee Chili Cook-Off.
Fall in East Tennessee means football, tailgating, foliage, and now ... chili. Come enjoy family fun in the heart of downtown at World’s Fair Park. Taste the culinary expertise of up to 30 amateur cooks and 10 restaurants as they compete for the soon-to-be coveted Chili Bowl Trophy.
This event is produced by DoubleJay Creative, the same company responsible for these recent productions: the revitalization of the downtown ice-skating rink, Knoxville’s Holidays on Ice, and the celebrated reopening of the Bijou Theatre (w/AC Entertainment).
All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.
When/Where: October 7, 2006 @ Festival Lawn on World’s Fair Park.
What: Each competitor will produce 60 gallons of chili to satisfy an estimated 10,000 person crowd. That’s almost 2,400 gallons of chili ... enough to fill up a 15-foot swimming pool.
There are only 30 amateur and 10 restaurant spots available, so get your applications in as soon as possible.
How: Detailed registration information, cooker applications, prizes & awards, entertainment, admission and chili cook-off festivities can be found on our website.
