Latest News from London

As airlines flying into and out of London’s airports got back to normal schedules again today, Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, praised the public – including visitors - for their calm response to last week’s security action.

(PRWEB) August 14, 2006 -- The response from visitors has been very understanding and new reservations for the capital continue to boom in what has been the country’s hottest summer for 100 years.

Despite alarmist stories media, London’s visitors have continued to go about their business and sightseeing in just the same way as before last week’s events. VisitLondon – the city’s tourism authority – reports much increased tourism in 2006 over last year and sees no change in the last few days.

“We understand that security checks will take a little longer at Heathrow Airport when we leave next week” said Cathy Clamor of San Diego, California, “but I am happy knowing we are safe.”

Airlines report delays on flights because of increased security checks but are already getting back on full schedules from all of London’s airports just 2 days after flights originally had to be stopped for a while.
