Local Shrink Wrapping Company Brings Much Needed Anti-Corrosion Material to Louisiana

Wrap-Teck brings intercept technology to the Gulf and helps solve many losses due to salt and humidity damage.

(PRWEB) August 15, 2006 -- Wrap-Teck, a boat shrink wrapping company in Baton Rouge. Louisiana has now added intercept to its fight against rust, corrosion, and mildew down south, where the humidity and salt air claim much damage to material and products.

Intercept, developed & patented by Lucent Technologies & Bell Labs, INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY™ is the breakthrough in corrosion protection.

INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY™ makes use of copper ions that are permanently bonded into the plastic polymer chain to neutralize the corrosive gases that cause corrosion.

Through a proprietary process, these copper ions are specially treated and stretched such that the surface area is 256 times that of normal copper ions. These copper ions are then permanently bonded into the polymer chain and are restricted from returning to their original form. These copper ions form a large net that “catches” and neutralizes any corrosive gases migrating through the film.

On the inside, the film acts as a preferred corrosion site for the corrosive gases that are trapped within during packaging. The greatly enhanced surface area of the copper ions readily draws the trapped corrosive gases toward the film and neutralizes them upon contact.

Wrap-Teck still intends to provide shrink wrapping services to the marine industry and looks forward to providing superior protection to the oil and industrial sectors around the gulf.
