Former DHL Director Joins Scala Logistics Consulting as Senior Partner

(PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- Scala Logistics Consulting - www.scalagroup.co.uk - has appointed David Grahamslaw, until recently a Director with DHL, as Senior Partner. David’s extensive commercial and operational experience in supply chain and Logistics will be put to good use in advising both logistics service providers and Retailers & Manufacturers alike , and also their users.

David has worked at a senior level in both in-house and major third party Llogistics companies, including most recently at Director level with DHL. He combines both transport and warehousing expertise, supported by excellent knowledge of current IT systems within supply chain management. Within line management and consultancy roles, he has instigated numerous substantial change management projects and has many years of experience ranging from strategic development to detailed operations and implementation.

John Perry, Managing Director of Scala, said that as Senior Partner, David would specialise in key strategic areas of the end-to-end supply chain including supply chain strategy; benchmarking; IT systems; and outsourcing. “There are many pitfalls in today’s supply chain environment, in particular when outsourcing is involved”. Mr. Perry said. “David’s extensive experience and knowledge will bring benefits to companies who are outsourcing, but also to those providing the service”.

Mr Grahamslaw added “My experience covers UK and international logistics and supply chain, and I have managed projects which span the whole supply chain, working with senior directors of companies, and also with operational management. I am looking forward to a return to management consulting, applying my knowledge and experience across industries.”

David started his Logistics career with Unilever after completing his degree in Geography at the University of Nottingham. His career has since taken him into operational and commercial roles with Exel Logistics, Geest, TNT Contract Logistics, Tibbett & Britten and most recently, DHL Contract Logistics. His Consultancy experience was gained with P-E Consulting, SCALA Consulting, and on a self-employed basis.
