Touched By A Tragedy Through the tragic events in the massacre of Haditha, Iraq, Don Shetterly allowed his emotions to come together to create the song, Hope For Haditha Children. 10% of the proceeds will go to benefit Children International. (PRWEB) August 21, 2006 -- When he heard the news that 24 civilians, including unarmed women and children, were killed by Marines in Haditha, Iraq, Don Shetterly felt a rush of emotions. As he sat at his keyboard, the Florida pianist found hope amid the horror, as he put his feelings to music.
The result, “Hope For Haditha Children”, has just become available for purchase or downloading, through an exclusive agreement with iTunes.
“This song is very special to me,” explains Shetterly. “Those children witnessed some of the most brutal events imaginable. Understanding what trauma does to a person, my hopes, prayers, and thoughts go out to these children. And through these children, may the world come to understand what peace and healing are truly all about.”
Shetterly, who is a licensed massage therapist, works with trauma survivors, and has written an article on the potential impact of trauma on the survivors of the Haditha massacre. He is donating 10% of the proceeds from the sale of this song to Children International, an organization he has been associated with for many years.
