American Public University System Concludes Transfer Credit Agreements With AFIT and MITAGS Students in APU and AMU Undergraduate and Graduate Transportation and Logistics Management Program to Qualify Charles Town, WVA (Vocus) July 16, 2010 American Public University System (APUS) today announced that it has signed transfer credit agreements with both the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and the Marine Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) which allow students of those institutions to apply their certificates and courses toward accredited online degrees at APUS member institutions American Military University (AMU) and American Public University (APU). Under the AFIT agreement, courses from the AFIT School of Systems and Technology will be accepted for transfer credit into AMU’s bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Transportation and Logistics Management. Similarly, under a separate agreement, students of the MITAGS Chief Mate/Master (CMM) License Advancement Program may transfer up to one-third of their earned academic credit to the AMU or APU Transportation and Logistics M.A. degree program. AMU and APU’s Transportation and Logistics undergraduate program provides students with principles, management, economics, finances, and other topics associated with the global air, maritime, logistics, and transportation systems of the world. The universities’ graduate programs in Transportation and Logistics Management are designed for military transportation logisticians, transportation personnel, or related specialists; government or corporate civilians involved in the transportation industry; and individuals interested in joining the transportation industry who might lack professional expertise in the field. “APUS and its universities are committed to helping students gain access to affordable, quality online education,” said Dr. Oliver Hedgepeth, program director, transportation and logistics management, at APUS. “It is our hope that these credit transfer agreements and our online degree programs in Transportation and Logistics Management will increase the ability of both AFIT and MITAGS to meet the educational and career needs of their students, regardless of their billet or physical location.” About the US Air Force Institute of Technology
