Madison, WI (PRWEB) July 22, 2010 Extract Systems, a leading provider of data indexing and redaction software, is pleased to announce that the Circuit Court Clerk in Fairfax County, VA has selected ID Shield™ Automated Redaction Software. Extract Systems will process and redact Social Security numbers from nearly 40 million images of scanned backfile records, including deeds, wills, fictitious names, notaries and bonds at its Madison, WI facility. ID Shield Redaction Software will also be integrated into the Circuit Court’s recording processes, to redact Social Security numbers from the estimated 2.5 million pages of newly recorded documents filed each year. Fairfax County issued a national RFP with challenging technical specifications, including a requirement for a 99.5% accuracy rate. ID Shield’s hybrid processing mode produces a 99.5% accuracy rate by utilizing sophisticated rules-based logic, optical character recognition and spatial data clues to automatically locate and redact a very high percentage of Social Security numbers. The software’s superior automated accuracy rate limits the need for human verification to a very small percentage of records, increasing productivity and reducing labor costs. Fairfax County also required a solution capable of protecting additional data types in the future without incurring the cost of reprocessing. This requirement was met by a unique feature called Legislation Guard™. ID Shield’s Legislation Guard™ guarantees the redaction of additional data fields at no charge if future legislation mandates the redaction of identity theft information beyond Social Security numbers. “Extract was able to provide the features and functionality that we needed at a competitive price. My staff and I are looking forward to working with Extract on our Social Security number redaction project,” said John Frey, Clerk of the Court in Fairfax, VA. “We are honored to have been selected by Fairfax County and look forward to serving its citizens by securely redacting Social Security numbers within the public record,” said David Rasmussen, President of Extract Systems. “Extract’s advanced redaction technology is a perfect fit for the scope and requirements of this project.” About Extract Systems
