Author Nancy Stade Releases The Desert Crop, a Vegan Legal Thriller Nancy Stade takes aim at the legal trade, consumerism, and love among the elites in her first novel, "The Desert Crop." Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 28, 2006 -- Nancy Stade, in conjunction with Lulu (http://www.lulu.com), has published "The Desert Crop," a legal thriller narrated through the gallows humor of its vegan protagonist as she investigates a mystery centered on a prosthetic sphincter.
Kyrie Dodormann's life isn't going well. She toils long hours at a law firm, "lining the partners’ pockets with the proceeds from sale of the remaining hours of what can reasonably be called [her youth." Her ascetic boyfriend has left her to defend an international smelting conglomerate that has trailed blood across multiple continents. She is slipping into a deep depressive decline. But everything changes when Kyrie's seductive boss calls her into his office for a glass of scotch and an introduction to a new assignment involving a client's mysterious biotech product called The Sphinx™ .
"The Desert Crop" follows Kyrie as her initial malaise towards the assignment erodes with discovery of the nefarious details of The Sphinx's true provenance, drawing her to a cold animal laboratory in the bowels of the client's Ciudad Juarez plant and ever closer to the dangerous man who may be Kyrie's only hope for learning the truth.
