Mendocino Grandma Declares War With 'Not Tonight Deer!' Animal lover and gardening enthusiast Arlene Lind, in a desperate attempt to save her flora from the ravages of an overeager buck, developed her own sure-fire way to halt the unwanted advances of her (white-tailed deer) neighbors – Not Tonight Deer! She shared the non-toxic, eco-friendly formula with friends and was soon in business selling her natural deer repellent. The product quickly became a favorite in deer-crowded Northern California and word has spread throughout the gardening grapevine. Mendocino, California (PRWeb) August 28, 2006 -- The deer population of the United States has increased from a half million to a staggering 30 million since the turn of the 20th century, much of it in newly populated suburban areas. Dave Riehlman, Wildlife Biologist with the New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation reports, “We used to think that deer populations of 150 to 300 per square mile were impossible – or unsustainable – but that’s what we’re seeing in some suburban neighborhoods.” Studies conducted by the Wildlife Damage Program in Cornell’s Dept. of Natural Resources indicate that not even disease can control overpopulation of deer, according to Assistant Professor and Coordinator Paul Curtis.
And boy are they hungry! Arlene Lind found that out the hard way when the uninvited four-legged neighbors turned her lovingly tended vegetable and flower gardens into their own personal salad bar. Her response was to develop an eco-friendly arsenal to keep the deer away without harming them or her garden. Gardeners all over the country agree, Not Tonight Deer! is the best solution to the problem. “Praise you and praise heaven for leading us to you,” writes Janet Roach of Shelter Island Heights, NY. “We’ve tried everything. So far only your product has worked reliably on this small island, which is home to more deer than people.”
Jim Chiapelone of the Burlingame Garden Center in Burlingame, CA claims, “It is one of the most effective and best selling repellents in our store. It gets our highest recommendation.” Inspired by the success of Not Tonight Deer!, Lind developed a complete line of environmentally friendly animal repellents for the garden and started selling them nationwide via the web at http://www.nottonightdeer.com and toll-free order line 888-535-2030.
