Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) August 29, 2006 -- Rosario Dawson will host a charitable concert event in conjunction with Zync Music and Twenty Women For Darfur as part of Global Darfur Awareness Day. The concert will be held at the Avalon Hollywood, 1735 N. Vine Street, Hollywood, CA, at 8:00 p.m. Many bands have donated their services for this benefit, including Bushwalla and Bitter:Sweet. There will be a raffle, door prizes and free drinks until 9 p.m. Several local celebrities are on the guest.

Twenty Women For Darfur is a group of concerned citizens who have formed a coalition aimed at raising donations for the displaced families in Darfur. Their events also serve the purpose of educating the public on the conflict taking place in the region. All proceeds from the September 17th concert event will go to the International Rescue Committee, a non-profit organization (IRC), for their efforts in Darfur.

The IRC helps people fleeing racial, religious and ethnic persecution, as well as those uprooted by war and violence. The IRC provides water, food, shelter, sanitation and medical care for the refugees they serve. For more information, please visit: www.twentywomenfordarfur.org or call (818) 345-8570.
