Young Inventor Discovers Water & Electricity Do Mix! Hangair Helps Surfers & Divers Achieve Nirvana

Hangair Drying System Solves the Problem of “Wetsuit Funk”

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- Surfers, scuba divers and others who use a wetsuit have been trying for years to dry the suit before their next chance to hit the surf. After use, wetsuits often take several days to dry completely. Wetsuit users, and those who live with them, can tell you a wet wetsuit stinks. They have a strong, unpleasant, unique odor. Twenty-three-year-old Michael Appelman, an avid surfer and scuba diver, knew there had to be a better way. His early-morning surfing in a cold, wet, stinky wetsuit made his recreation time almost unbearable. So Michael set out to develop a sports apparel drying system for his personal use. He’s done that – and more.

After tinkering with dozens of prototypes with different electrical components and materials, Michael knew he was onto something. With the help of David Morelock, a surfer who also happened to be an exceptional mechanical engineer, Michael created the Hangair Drying System.

Michael knew almost immediately that the Hangair Drying System had possibilities. He couldn’t get his “rigged-up” prototypes back from his surfing and diving friends who were testing them. Once they experienced the joy of a dry wetsuit, there was no going back. After the attorneys finished up the patent process, the production and marketing wheels started to turn.

The official launch of the Hangair Drying System is September 8, 2006, at the San Diego Convention Center. The Hangair will debut at the ASR Expo, the pre-eminent west coast tradeshow for the surf, skate, swim and youth culture market, followed by its east coast debut in Orlando, Florida on September 15 at the Surf Expo. However, word is already getting out and surf and dive shops that were a part of market testing the Hangair indicated they definitely will carry the new system in their stores. First shipments of Hangairs will be arriving in stores the first week of November, in time for the Christmas gift-giving season.
