Popular singer-songwriter Lanny Sherwin, President of Sandman Records, and BabySteps Magazine have teamed up for the first ever “Lullaby Writing Contest.” The contest is open to all who want to share the special bonding that music gives parents & newborns and provides parents with the unique opportunity to turn an original lullaby into a professionally recorded CD courtesy of Sandman Records.

Lanny Sherwin is a professional songwriter and has had unique success with his lullabies. He has released two fun-filled, whimsical and “new school” lullaby CDs, Dream With Me Tonight—Lullabies For All Ages and Dream With Me Tonight, Volume 2—A Father’s Lullabies, for ages newborn to 5. They have been an instant success with families nationwide garnering 16 prestigious industry awards, largely because of the Sandman Records motto: “Don’t Drive Parents Crazy!” He is also the writer-producer-performer of Turn Up The Music!, an upbeat musical treat for children ages 4-9. HOW TO ENTER THE LULLABY WRITING CONTEST:

To enter, submit a cassette, CD or MP3 file of an original song and a typed lyric sheet to: BabySteps Lullaby Writing Contest c/o iVillage Parenting Network, Inc., 500 Seventh Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, New York 10018. Songs may not exceed five minutes. The cassette, CD or MP3 file and the lyric sheet should include your complete name, address, telephone number (with area code) and date of birth and in the case of multiple co-writers, the complete name of all co-writers. Entries may contain a cappella or accompanied performance. All entries must be received by December 31, 2006 to be eligible. Limit one (1) entry per person/address/household. Entry must be in English.
