Defending children against predators and abductors

New, two part video to teach parents in home and street safety, reducing children's chance of becoming victims.

Digital 2000, Americas largest producer of safety training programs, announces the release of a two part childrens safety training video/DVD entitled Street Smarts."

Part One is intended for teachers and parents and describes ways to train children ages 5 to 8 years in home and street safety reducing their chances of becoming victims.

Part Two is intended for children and adults to watch together and includes real life reenactments of child abduction scenarios.

Most parents discuss with their children the hazards and risks of being out alone, however, seeing the reenactments on a video program makes a greater impact on children. Such visual information increases the effectiveness of the training more than verbal communications could alone.

Together these tapes teach:

How to travel safely with the buddy system

To avoid strange behavior in adults

What to do if someone grabs them on the street

What to do if someone tried to force a child into a car, how to answer the telephone when home alone, and much more.

This program also includes expert advice from Stefan Verstappen, a writer and martial arts expert who created a unique street-proofing program for kids 4 to 7 entitled The Little Warriors. Mr. Verstappen is available for comments and advice on self defense for small children.

This 17 minute video is aimed at children ages 5 to 8 and retails for US $19.95.

(Available in both English and Spanish)
