Costa Rica Real Estate Project Delivers News with a Kick, a Punch and a Sharp Bite Hacienda Matapalo , a gated community on Costa Rica’s south pacific coast, is delivering its summer news with a kick, a punch and a sharp bite. Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) August 9, 2010 The latest edition of the Hacienda Matapalo Community Newsletter, a free online publication, is now online and ready for download – complete with a kick, a punch and a sharp bite. The special “Summer Sports Issue” for the gated community on Costa Rica’s south pacific coast includes a variety of articles ranging from futbol and football to ladies boxing and crocodile wrestling. The concept was the brainchild of communications manager Howard Brody, who joined the company at the start of 2010 after nearly a dozen years at Bank of America where he held a number of positions in technology and communications. “When it came time to do something different yet informative for a summer issue, I chose sports,” said Brody who also has a history in the sports and entertainment industries. “My first inclination was to do a Hacienda Matapalo swimsuit issue, ala ‘Sports Illustrated,’ but I knew that wouldn’t work and quite frankly I didn’t want to see our CEO in a Speedo!” he chuckled. The Summer Sports Issue not only covers specific information on the best selling property in Costa Rica – which has more than $60 million in pre-construction sales – but information that its future residents would find interesting and informative. Although topic diversity is what helps make the 50-plus page issue unique and interesting, because fishing and boating are such large parts of the Costa Rican culture, there are more than ten pages dedicated to the sports. “We recognize how important fishing and boating are to the members of our community,” Brody said. “So we wanted to make sure we provided information of substance and not just something that filled space.” Brody said the Summer Sports Issue is the most popular online newsletter Hacienda Matapalo has ever produced with more downloads than any previous issue. “It’s more than a newsletter, it’s a guide,” Brody claimed as he scrolled through the pages on his laptop. “Surfing, snorkeling, cycling, rodeo … it’s all here,” he said.
