New Book Announced: Rangefinder's Professional Photography Edited by Bill Hurter

Learn how the industry's most notable photographers create their masterworks.

Buffalo, New York (PRWEB) September 15, 2006

Amherst Media and Rangefinder today announce their latest book, Rangefinder's Professional Photography edited by Bill Hurter.

Rangefinder Magazine’s RF Cookbook series was introduced in 2004 and quickly became one of the publication’s most popular features. Essentially, each article in the series consists of one amazing image and a short look at how it was created -- a “recipe” for the image. Featuring the best images by the best photographers from around the world, the series reflects the pinnacle of contemporary photography, both in terms of technical skills and creative ingenuity. This appeals to professional photographers because it offers a quick and highly visual way to identify a technique that will suit their style and adapt it with a minimum of fuss. Best of all, the series includes all genres of photography, from wedding and fashion to portrait and product, enabling photographers to borrow the specialized techniques from one genre and apply them to another. In this book, Bill Hurter, the editor of Rangefinder, has collected over one hundred of these articles and compiled them for easy reading. In each chapter, the images and techniques are thematically grouped to provide for rapid learning and easy cross-reference. Featured topics include: • commercial lighting • portrait lighting • wedding photography • senior portrait photography • posing techniques • Adobe Photoshop techniques • Corel Painter techniques • digital shooting techniques • digital compositing techniques (combining images) Because of the breadth of topics, the high quality of the images, the technical skills required to create them, and the sheer creativity reflected in each shot, this book represents a unique entry in the world of photography books.

•Over 100 articles straight from the pages of Rangefinder magazine
