Low Cost Prints announces support for the ClassZoom school supplies for the needy project.

Recognizing that August is back-to-school time for most of the U.S., Low Cost Prints seeks to raise funds and awareness for the ClassZoom school supplies for the needy charity project.

Robert Bradley, President of Low Cost Prints LLC, announced today that the company will donate 10% of all merchandise sales made during the month of August made on its fine art prints Web site www.lowcostprints.com and by telephone.

"August is the time when most children are preparing for returning to school, so we thought it was a good time to raise awareness for this project" said Bradley. "There is a very real need for providing school supplies for low-income children, and this is the time when that need is greatest."

Georgia schoolteacher Arlinda Porter agrees: "Many parents are able to help get their children started with supplies at first, but they are not able to maintain this throughout the year. Often within a school, most of the school staff know first-hand exactly which kids are the most in need."

With most school budgets stretched thin, teachers often step in to help as many as they can afford to. "Every teacher that I know spends hundreds and hundreds of their own money each year for their classroom and students" says Porter. And her experience reflects a national problem: a recent poll indicated that teachers pay for 77% of school supplies out of their own pocket.

"We know that teachers will continue to buy school supplies out of their own pockets, even though schoolteachers are among the lowest-paid professionals in America" said Bradley. "But this project will help with supplies for those needy children beyond the reach of school budgets and teachers' ability to pay."
