Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Partners with Financial Services Roundtable for Community Build Day 2006

On “Community Build Day” employees and managers of Citigroup companies including Citibank, CitiFinancial and Banamex will work with Habitat for Humanity of Greater of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) staff and volunteers to help build a safe, decent, affordable home for the Gonzalez family.

(PRWEB) September 14, 2006 -- What: As part of a national partnership between Habitat for Humanity International and Financial Services Roundtable (FSR), the Los Angeles Habitat for Humanity affiliate will join forces with FSR member Citigroup for “Community Build Day 2006” on Saturday, September 16, 2006. On “Community Build Day” employees and managers of Citigroup companies including Citibank, CitiFinancial and Banamex will work with Habitat for Humanity of Greater of Greater Los Angeles (HFH GLA) staff and volunteers to help build a safe, decent, affordable home for the Gonzalez family.

When: Saturday, September 16, 2006

8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Brief presentations and lunch 11:30 a.m.

Speakers at 11:30 include Citibank Area Manager Carlos Seraphim and HFH GLA President and CEO Erin Rank. Los Angeles City Council member Janice Hahn’s office will also be represented.

Where: 434 W. 112th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90061.

(at South Grand Avenue, just east of Vermont Avenue)

Who: The hard-working Gonzalez family will move into the home on 112th Street. They currently live in a cramped one-bedroom, one bath apartment in an unsafe neighborhood. The Gonzalez family, like all other Habitat for Humanity partner families, are selected through a rigorous process and required to volunteer 500 hours of “sweat equity” on the construction of their home as well as complete a homeowner education program.

Participants in Community Build Day include members of the Gonzalez family, employees and managers of Citibank, CitiFinancial and Banamex, and HFH GLA staff and volunteers.
