Dance at Your Wedding? Gay Couples Want to Dance Too

Popular composer is set to bridge the gap in distinctive music for GLBTI weddings and events so that couples can now have their own personal wedding and event songs.

Edison, NJ (PRWEB) September 19, 2006 -- “He” and “she” are lyrics that alienate and vex growing numbers of gay couples on their wedding day. “There’s nothing that relates to us. There's not a song here that speaks about us”. These are often heard complaints of gay and lesbian couples when seeking the musical aspects of their wedding or commitment ceremony.

Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and Intersex (GLBTI) men and women have had to make due with subjective, personal-pronoun-free love songs in order to find music that embodied the emotion and sentiment of the most important celebration of their lives -- becoming one with another.

In a stunning development for NY/Key West GLBTI wedding firm savvyplanners.com last week, they now represent an internationally available solution that makes finding the "perfect" wedding song a simple task for the couple. Acclaimed pianist and composer, Joshua Rich, has accepted an invitation to become the Composer-in-Residence for savvyplanners.com’s clients.

Through this cooperation, Mr. Rich has pledged to make every effort to create songs that resonate deeply in the hearts and minds of the GLBTI community and especially for the clients of savvyplanners.com. "I write songs that encompass and embrace the meaningful experience of these couples on their special day. I am so happy to have been invited to fill this exclusive role with the company," he added. Former clients asked about this new offering found the price appealing and manageable.

Mr. Rich has accepted the post conditionally, however, demanding assurances for a very exclusive and limited amount of compositions for the clients. “I have no desire to write twenty songs a week. It is much too special a creation for the couple and as an artist, it wouldn’t be right to push them out in that manner.”

After a private consultation with the couple, Joshua takes all the significant information that is shared with him and works with clients to create an original song.

Based in the DC area, Mr. Rich is a creator for whom this absence of personal, GLBTI embracing music is inequitable. "I love creating special songs for couples. I have a very large GLBT following and have embraced the GLBTI community as they have embraced the feelings I work to communicate musically," said Rich.

Mr. Rich's background is extensive and includes playing, writing, performing and teaching music for over 20 years. He has performed concerts at the Kennedy Center, as well as a cross-country tour, solo piano recordings, adult contemporary and children’s music.

His expertise has invited work as a musical director for many gala events (where he has collaborated with such musical luminaries as Marvin Hamlisch, and performed for such distinguished guests as Senator Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Taylor and Bob Hope). He is responsible for creating and running his own after-school performing arts program and has recently been scoring independent films.

Joshua Rich's music has been feted as passionate, deeply emotional and vivid. His playing and singing style has been compared to Paul Simon, Randy Newman, Billy Joel, James Taylor and Elton John.

Company CEO MW Savant said today, "It is such an honor for the company to have been chosen by an artist of the level of Joshua. I am so excited for my clients, particularly, because now they can have their personal stories told, our emotions and experiences preserved and the romantic and special nature of a wedding event to be chronicled in song."

"Joshua’s heart is remarkably sensitive and astute which makes him the ultimate choice for my clients," he continued.

The unique songs are entirely about the couples, their experiences and situations in their relationship and special moments that they wish to preserve.

Recalling days when many popular recording artists would create "just for you" songs for friends and clients, Mr. Rich recreates the intimate and thoughtful effort of that period and brings the form back to life.
