Bluemile lights New Albany's fiber network

The Village of New Albany’s fiber network now has access to over 180 carriers nationwide.

Three years ago, New Albany was a non-winning finalist for a major central Ohio economic development project. That’s when community development leaders realized the need for New Albany to build its own fiber network to attract new jobs to the community.

Fast forward to today when combined efforts with American Electric Power (AEP) and Bluemile have made New Albany a destination community for technology based companies throughout the country because of New Albany’s 96-strand fiber network that is self-healing and robust. These attributes contribute to a reliable and affordable network that provides access to more than 180 service providers nationwide.

New Albany’s fiber network allows prospective companies to maintain relationships with existing service providers no matter where they are located. As a result, New Albany is making a national name for itself, even beating out cities like Atlanta and San Antonio for high tech companies and mission critical facilities.
