Susan Brink, DrPH, to Present HealthMark Multimedia’s Your Decision Notebook® Series to International Audience

The Health Communication & Informatics Research Branch (HCIRB) in the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences at the National Cancer Institute will be conducting a session at the MEDNET international conference in October 2006. This "Cancer Information on the Internet" program will showcase products and projects whose development has been supported by the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Susan Brink, a Principal of HealthMark Multimedia, has been invited to demonstrate HealthMark Multimedia’s Your Decision Notebook® series of CD-ROMs for cancer patients and health care institutions. Dr. Brink will demonstrate key elements from the programs targeting breast, prostate and lung cancer patients.

About the Your Decision Notebook® series:

Focused on patients, this series includes information for persons with primary prostate cancer, recurrent prostate cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer. These CD-ROMs provide the cancer patient and family members with balanced in-depth information about treatment options and outcomes. Information is presented through audio and graphic elements with interactive tools that assist the user in personalizing the information to their situation and participating in decisions. These products have received numerous awards for presentation and design. Supplemental products include patient information on management of cancer pain, use of complementary therapies, and interactive tools for breast cancer survivors.

About MEDNET:

The MEDNET scientific conference is organized by the Society for the Internet in Medicine (SIM). While MEDNET usually convenes its’ meetings in Europe, this year’s meeting will be part of a larger eHealth conference coordinated by the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation in Toronto, Canada. Between 800 and 1000 participants from all over the world are expected in addition to numerous partner organizations, satellite workshops and high-profile keynote speakers.
